There’s just something about Ubuntu MATE. It’s lightweight, looks good, and runs great. I’ve run older versions on a variety of laptops (and a Raspberry Pi) and have been waiting for this to be released to see if it kept up the streak. It does. I had this up and ready to rock in no time. It’s got the 4.4 kernel, up-to-date apps, and it isn’t full of a million programs that you’ll never use. If you haven’t tried Ubuntu MATE before you’re missing out. It’s the perfect distro for people who like Ubuntu but hate the interface.
